Marilee Mahoney is the owner/founder of MPM Communications, an independent public relations and consulting firm that combines the scope and power of a major public relations agency with the close and careful personal attention of a boutique firm.   MPM Communications specializes in entertainment, corporate, new media, small business and individual publicity and marketing.

Ms. Mahoney has managed successful publicity/promotional campaigns for personalities including Chris Rock, George C. Scott, Johnny Carson and Bob Newhart, among others, as well as syndicated and network programs such as “The Arsenio Hall Show,” “Renegade,” “Family Ties,” “Law & Order” and “Northern Exposure.”  Her corporate clients have included the Grammy Awards, Carson Productions, Bob Hope Enterprises and the Hilton Hotels Corporation.  She has worked closely with producers Tom Fontana, Arnold Shapiro, Dick Wolf and Pierre Cossette on special projects.

Having begun her career as a Page at NBC-TV in Burbank Ms. Mahoney went on to hold positions in various production and promotional capacities at the network.  She then joined her father’s renowned publicity agency, Mahoney Communications, which was merged with global giant Burson-Marsteller in 1991.

In November of 1994, Ms. Mahoney was offered the position of Director, East Coast Entertainment Press & Publicity for NBC-TV in New York, a position she accepted and held for five years.  During that period she managed the department’s daily publicity activities on programs including “Saturday Night Live,” “Law & Order,” “Homicide Life on the Street” and “The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” and acted as a liaison between the network and the producers of programs and specials in Primetime, Daytime and Latenight.  She also coordinated and assisted on many corporate related events and issues.

Under her own MPM Communications banner, Ms. Mahoney has designed and implemented successful publicity/promotional campaigns for a wide range of clients.  Some of those clients include PBS, drummer Max Weinberg, special projects for the Sephora cosmetics chain, the American Academy of Dermatology, Appraisal Management Company, a special project for Breeder’s Choice, a national pet food company, the launch and ongoing publicity for RESCUE MAGAZINE a national monthly lifestyle magazine, special event publicity for several non-profit organizations including The Help Group, Tower Cancer Research and the Literacy Network of Greater Los Angeles as well as independent flim production companies, Amarinda, Paradox Smoke Productions and Tonja Walker Productions.

Using her wealth of knowledge, experience and personal relationships, cultivated over the past two decades, Ms. Mahoney looks forward to growing MPM Communications and pursuing new opportunities in the fields of entertainment and corporate public relations and counseling.
